Personality At times, Haruka is emotionless, cold, and distant. That’s only when she feels threatened, however – like she's being accused, like she has to defend herself with everything she has, including her sharp tongue. Outside of these situations, however, she’s a tiny bit more open. Though, due to her upbringing in an extremely broken and, for lack of a better term, dog-eat-dog home, Haruka is more reserved with her emotions, and expressions. This is due to the belief that expressing ones emotions and feelings is a weakness, and will get them killed. She’s most reserved about sexuality in general, and a bit with her own sexuality, though that doesn’t bother her as much. She is also good at concealing her feelings behind a mask, but will only do so if she doesn’t trust herself with what she really feels. She regards her greatest weakness to be the people she loves, if only because she loves them so dearly. But, being the kind of person she is, she won’t allow this to be known, nor will she ever really express her love. She doesn’t know how for the latter, and the former is because she wants to keep them safe and happy, even if it is at cost to herself. Background Born in Osaka to a drunkard father and a prostitute mother, Haruka’s childhood was bleak from the get-go. Being the product of rape and forced marriage, she was never really loved by her parents. Her mother was hardly ever home, and though she did try and be caring, it didn’t work much. Of course, Haruka did find her saving grace in a little girl called Sam. They met when Haruka was nine and Sam herself was seven, and the two were joined at the hip after that. (It should be noted, however, that Haruka did have younger siblings of her own, even if they died about a year before she met Sam.) Of course, with things getting worse and worse at home for Haruka – her father would often beat her, or if she had particularly raised his ire, rape her – she would stay at Sam’s place almost every night. Haruka felt that it was her job to look after Sam, as the girl’s foster parents were all but uncaring and unconcerned. Also, Haruka began to notice that Sam kept her sane. And then, Akimi waltzed into the picture. Haruka was eleven; Sam was nine. Akimi was seventeen. Sam got bad feelings whenever the girl was around, while Haruka was nothing short of enamored; little did either know that Kazeko was paying Akimi to keep an eye on Haruka, so that her father couldn’t hurt her anymore than he already had. By the time Haruka was thirteen, she was a fully-fledged member of Akimi’s gang – the Red Butterfly Suicide Squad – and she had finally had enough of her father. She shot him (though in retrospect, she probably should have made sure he was dead…), and took Sam with her when she followed Akimi and her gang to Kyoto. Sam was found by the authorities, but Haruka did nothing to help. Haruka was fourteen, and Sam was twelve by this time. The next year was relatively peaceful for the two; Sam settled in with her foster family – a new set this time – and Haruka managed to use the money she had saved up from her part-time job to buy a small, ratty apartment for herself. And then, just as Akimi had, Michiru waltzed into their lives. Sam didn’t get bad vibes, and Haruka held herself back for much longer this time. Sam witnessed the changing relationship, but only ever knew Michiru from glances she caught when she left or Haruka arrived at things the two best friends did together. And then, Haruka accepted her destiny as Sailor Uranus. Things started to go downhill for the two best friends. They fought for the first time on a long time – really fought, not just a quickly-solved, sisterly disagreement – in which Sam tied to get her best friend to stop destroying herself (Haruka liked liquor, the kiss of a razor blade, and the dull stab of hunger) and Haruka exploded with her as-of-yet uncontrolled Senshi power. With Sam nearly dead, (though in the end healed and unconscious) because of her, Haruka accepted Michiru’s offer and they left. Haruka was fifteen by this time, Michiru fourteen, and Sam thirteen. The two traveled around Japan for the next three years, until they were accepted as scholarship students at Mugen Gakuen. Their relationship never developed past friendship, but the sexual tension was thick enough to be cut with a butter knife. They refused to acknowledge their feelings for one another; their mission came first. In short, she didn’t, and doesn’t, wish to get close to Michiru simply because she doesn’t want to hurt another person she loves. Haruka Tenou Most of the time, one can easily find Haruka wearing her school uniform (the boys’ uniform) but when not dressed as such, she’ll usually wear something fashionable, though not in the feminine sense. She might have a more tomboyish air (aka slightly feminine) at times to her, but mostly she will dress in an extremely masculine fashion. Something she will always wear is the medium-sized, gold cross her mother gave to her once as a birthday gift. Whether she wears it out or not depends, but that cross will always be worn on its leather cord, around her neck. Sailor Uranus Her Senshi fuku is standard, save that her boots are loose and ankle-height, and her back bow is the same color as her pleated skirt, the bands on her mid-forearm-length gloves, her sailor collar (which has no stripes), the choker at her throat, and her tiara gem. In keeping with the fact that she always only wears one item of jewelry, she wears one small, gold hoop earring in her left ear. Her front bow is a golden-yellow hue, while the broach holding it together is circular and of a dark sky blue rather than navy. Her attacks, like Jupiter's, are mostly martial-arts-esque, though she does posses her own power. As the Senshi of Wind and Sky, her attack consists of a sphere of golden energy gathered from the sky, which she hurls at wind-like speeds at her opponent. This attack is called World Shaking.

i must say i was a little wary on accepting this because i was starting from the beginning with only the original inner senshi, but there is no way i could deny this. you did a wonderful job explaining her. i always did love me some haruka. hohoho. regardless of my babbling, welcome to the site!
